Archangel Gabriel Ornament

Archangel Gabriel is the messenger of the Incarnation in St Luke’s Gospel, where he also heralds the birth of John the Baptist. His name means “power of God.” This image of the Gabriel was taken from an original icon on display in our monastery conference room. The icon is a triptych, featuring Our Lady of Tenderness, flanked by the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel. The icon was painted by a nun of New Skete.
